Well, here it is. My website is finally up and running, albeit with a limited number of images. I've initially published it with a free domain name, just to see how it goes. My aim is only to add images that stand out for me. This will mean it will probably be a slow grower, with images being replaced with hopefully better ones as time passes. I don't expect great things from this site. It's more of a hobby, than a money earner. I feel my photography is improving as time goes by, and this website will hopefully be another cog in the wheel that pushes me on. Of course, what I feel and what the viewer sees can be two widely differing things. Over the past 12 months I have been busy putting together a Royal Photographic Society 'L' Panel for assessment. The reasons for this were twofold. Firstly to actually give me a purpose to be out with the camera. I felt I was wandering aimlessly snapping away at everything and nothing. Secondly, it has given me a sharp lesson in attention to detail, both in composition, and processing, which I hope will serve me well on future outings. My assessment date of March 1st has come and gone, unfortunately cancelled due to the weather.

The 'Beast From The East' has a lot to answer for! I now have another 7 week wait until my new date of April 25th. Fingers crossed, but 'pass' or 'fail', I feel I have benefited already.
I hope to publish blogs of my future outings with the camera. At least the interesting ones anyway, so I hope you'll come along and enjoy the ride with me, at least in spirit anyway.
Until next time,
all the best,
Craig
