Welcome along. Follow  my first tentative steps into the world of guitar upgrading, which may turn into actual downgrading of a perfectly usable instrument!

My plan. To take a relatively inexpensive guitar, take it apart, make it look nice, then rebuild it with better quality hardware. Simple? We'll see!

The donor guitar is the Yamaha Pacifica 112 pictured above, bought for the measly sum of fifty quid.

I have experience of owning a previous incarnation, so I can vouch for the quality of the instrument. They are a hard to beat entry level guitar for the money, and yet here I am, about to deconstruct the poor thing.
